Cross-country skiing
The prospect of blue skies, snowy forests and approximately 16 km of long sunny cross-country routes with splendid panoramic views at the foot of the Rosengarten will make the heart of every cross-country skier beat faster.
The easy gradients and perfectly groomed trails are also ideal for beginners. The use of all cross-country routes in Karersee is free of charge.
Cross-country routes in the region
Circular trail Frin to Niger, 65 km
From our Sporthotel Alpenrose the course leads through magnificent woods and alpine meadows, where it links to the cross-country ski trail Niger (8 km long) and then to circular trail Frin.
The trail lies on a large alpine meadow, under the refuge Tscheinder Hütte and is 5 km long. From here you can carry on skiing to Nigerpass.
Circular trail Karersee (Angerle Alm), 3 km
This trail offers gorgeous views at the Rosengarten and Latemar. It lies just few kilometres from the ski slopes of the ski area Carezza and is ideal meeting point for the whole family.

In the holiday region Rosengarten-Latemar you can find the 4 following centres for cross-country skiing:
• Deutschnofen-Petersberg-Weißenstein: in total 33 km, 2 green; 3 blue and 2 red trails
• Aldein - Radein - Jochgrimm: in total 39 km 4 green; 2 blue, 2 red and 2 black trails
• Lavazé-Joch: in total 68 km 2 green; 5 blue, 4 red and 3 black trails
• Welschnofen/Karersee: in total 19 km, 3 blue trails
The use of all cross-country routes in Welschnofen-Karersee is free of charge. The trails in Deutschnofen - Petersberg – Weißenstein, Aldein-Radein-Jochgrimm and Lavazè-Joch are NOT free of charge.
